Episode 18: Ball for All

2024 may as well go down as the year the WNBA made a statement arrival, one that has been 28 years in the making.

Take Cailtin Clark and this rookie class out of the equation for a second, the league has been seeing record crowds, record viewership, and record engagement on social media. Now, after a record breaking WNBA Finals that saw one of their original teams win their first championship, it’s time for sports fans to start taking the W more seriously.

Now, I’ll be honest: I’m completely out of my element on this subject. What I’m not about to do is to feed you a bunch of misinformation or half baked stories. Instead, I brought in fans and reporters for the Liberty and WNBA to teach us about how this team’s history mirrors the rise, stall, and eventual soar that has become women’s basketball.
